GED Preparation Classes
The GED program is available to the residents of Will County from the ages of 16-21. Our program provides assistance to earn a high school equivalency certificate by passing tests on Reading, Writing, Social Studies, Science, and Mathematics. Your consistent attendance and determination will help you reach your goal.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Age 16 through 21 

  • Economically Disadvantaged

Has one or more of the following barriers to employment:

  • Deficient in basic literacy skills 

  • An individual who computes or solves problems, reads, writes or speaks English at or below a grade level of 8.9

  • Homeless, runaway, or foster child 

  • Pregnant or parenting teen

  • An offender

  • An individual who requires additional assistance to complete an educational program, or to secure and hold employment

How Can I Enroll In The GED Class?

  1. Contact our office to schedule an appointment or if you're in the area come in and say hello. 

  2. Complete our application.

GED Class Schedule

  • Classes are offered Monday-Thursday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. 

  • Open lab from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Thursday

Class schedule may change without notice contact our office for further information.

SkillsTutor 
SkillsTutor, is a program we use in class which will quickly increase academic achievement for our students.

GED Online Group
The GED online groups is designed to give our students resources to prepare for the GED test. The online group allows our students to communicate with each other outside of the class room. 


How Many Points Is Considered Passing?

You have to get an average score of 450 over all the tests. You also have to get a minimum score of 410 on each test. If you don't get a high enough score on a particular test or overall, and your total points fall below 2250, you can test again after 30 days. You may take the whole test over, or just the parts of the test you didn't pass. You have three times to retest within one year. These are minimum passing scores.
